SecureSystem Chosen for Prestigious Rotterdam PortXL Program

On February 19, 2019, SecureSystem was one of a select group of emerging technology companies to win a spot in the 2019 PortXL Rotterdam accelerator program.

PortXL is one of the world’s most successful and well-established channels to connect high-growth technology companies in the shipping and logistics space with some of the largest, most experienced companies in the industry.

Among the more than 1,100 companies screened for the program, 28 companies were chosen to meet with PortXL’s partner companies over the course of an intensive two-day conference. Of those, 14 companies were selected for the Scale-Up program.

“We are thrilled to work with PortXL and its partner companies in the 2019 program,” said Thomas Ziemba, SecureSystem CEO. “We are particularly excited about the opportunity to deploy SecureSystem’s smart shipping solutions in some of the new use-cases we’ve discussed with PortXL’s corporate partners. This has the potential to drive growth for the company beyond our existing focus on in-transit-visibility and security for our government and commercial customers.”

The PortXL program includes two tracks – a start-up accelerator to support early stage companies and a scale-up track to drive commercial growth for technology companies already operating in the market.

To win a place in PortXL, coming out of the Rotterdam meetings at least one PortXL partner company must choose to engage the scale-up in a commercial project.

Partner companies and organizations include:

• Port of Rotterdam
• Mammoet
• Van Oord
• EY
• Royal IHC
• Vopak
• Boskalis
• Shell
• Rabobank
• City of Rotterdam
• Rotterdam The Hague Airport
• InnovationQuarter
• ECE
